Abstract: This talk is devoted to the asymptotic behavior of solutions to some higher-order generalizations of the Emden-Fowler equation. Several author's results will be presented concerning both positive and oscillatory solutions to equations with regular and singular nonlinearities.
We will discuss the existence and asymptotic behavior of "blow-up", "black hole", and "white hole" solutions. For slightly different equations, the asymptotic equivalence of their positive vanishing solutions will be discussed. An oscillation criterion and some results on the asymptotic behavior of oscillating solutions will be formulated. For the second-, third-, and forth-order equations, an asymptotic classification of the solutions will be presented. Some applications of the results obtained will be proposed.
