Abstract: A long- or multi-span structure would be subjected to multiple support excitations under seismic wave propagation. In this paper, the seismic analysis of a maglev vehicle moving on multi-span gudieway girders considering multi-support motion is studied. To control the vibration of the moving maglev vehicle, a control algorithm based on onboard PI tuning method is presented to regulate the control voltage for tuning both magnetic forces in uplift levitation and lateral guidance of the maglev system. From numerical studies, the results show that (1) the maglev vehicle equipped with more supported magnets can exhibit better performance in reducing seismic-induced lateral response of the vehicle since more multi-magnets can provide more control gains for tuning the guidance forces of the moving vehicle; (2) the effects of multi-support motions induced by seismic wave propagation should be taken into account in dynamic analysis of a maglev vehicle moving on guideway girders under earthquakes.
